According to the data released by General Administration of Customs of the P.R.China, in May 2024, the quantity of China’s tea exports were 25,800 tons, a decrease of 11.86% year-on-year; the value reached 102 million US dollars, 29.85% downward year-on-year;the average export price was 3.94 US dollars/kg, 20.41% down from the same period last year.
As of May, the sum volume was 144,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.57%;the total value was 545 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 22.80%, and the average export price from January to May was 3.78 US dollars/kg, down 21.56% from the same period last year.
In terms of category. From January to May 2024, China’s green tea export volume was 124,500 tons, accounting for 86.3% of the total export volume, an increase of 1,825 tons(1.5%); The export volume of black tea was 9365 tons, accounting for 6.5% of the total export volume, a decrease of 1578 tons(14.4%); Oolong tea export volume was 6568 tons, accounting for 4.6% of the total export volume, a decrease of 2859 tons(30.3%); The export volume of jasmine tea was 2818 tons, accounting for 2.0% of the total export volume, an increase of 527 tons(23%); The export volume of Pu ‘er tea was 651 tons, accounting for 0.5% of the total export volume,(120); Other scented tea exports were 66 tons, dark tea exports were 213 tons, and white tea exports were 134 tons.
