Zhejiang Tea Group, established in 1950, is a national key leading enterprise of agricultural industrialization. It is a brand operator of the whole tea industry chain, which integrates tea planting, processing, scientific research and development, and domestic and foreign trade, and has the ability to integrate and operate the global tea resource supply chain. Zhejiang Tea Group is positioned as a global supplier of healthy tea drinks and tea resource integrator, and is determined to provide high-quality tea products for the whole world.
Zhejiang Tea Group has nearly ten well-known brands covering different fields of the industry, including Camel, Shi Feng, Transworld, Tian Xiang, Xing He, Chen Taichang, Kawasaki Tea Machine, Xie Cha 2018, Fu Mao He Ji, Gan De Long Xin. The group has six business departments, nearly twenty Sino-foreign joint ventures, wholly-owned enterprises and holding enterprises, with overseas companies or representative offices in the United States, Japan, Uzbekistan, Mali, Morocco, Algeria and Pakistan. The group has also served as the ISO/TC34/SC8 Twinned Secretariat, the chairman unit of China Tea Industry Alliance and so on, and has been making contributions to the development of the industry.
In recent years, Zhejiang Tea Group has availed itself of international trade opportunities and actively responded to the ‘One Belt One Road’ initiative to expand the tea market in countries and regions along the route.
With emphasis on building four areas, the group focuses on establishing a strategy for upgrading the commercial tea industry: a large-scale tea export center with operational innovations, a multi-functional special tea center with enhanced capabilities, a comprehensive domestic trade center with resource synergies, and a tea-centered health solutions with multi-disciplinary creations. The group sponsored the establishment of the tea product research and evaluation base of the WTO/TBT-SPS National Notification and Consultation Center, and exclusively constructed the “China-Austria organic tea demonstration garden” project jointly launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Resources of Austria. They also successfully hosted the 2017 ETP Global Tea Buyers Conference. The Tea Expo Project became the benchmark of the provincial agriculture “two districts” on-site demonstration in 2018, and is implementing the leading concepts of “machine substitution,” “smart farming,” and “industrial civilization” while vigorously promoting the Millennium Matcha initiative and promote the integration of the six classes of tea and the three sectors (i.e. primary, secondary, and tertiary industries) within the tea industry.
Under the guidance of the State Poverty Alleviation Office, the Provincial Party Committee, and the provincial government at all departmental levels, Zhejiang Tea Group actively responded to the call for cooperation between the East and the West by taking a leading role among enterprises in fighting poverty in Guizhou, Hubei, Sichuan and Hunan. The group provides a series of industry assistance services, including 15 million tea seedlings, and in the construction of a comprehensive processing center in Pu’an, Guizhou.
