G20 summit in Hangzhou—President Xi Jinping and President Obama, drank tea and walked around the West Lake

September 4th 2016, the G20 summit was officially held in Hangzhou, China. President Mauricio Macri of Argentina, acting president Michel Temer of Brazil, President Barack Hussein Obama of the United States and other G20 leaders, guests and heads of relevant international organizations attended the meeting.

On September 3rd, President Xi Jinping and President Barack Hussein Obama meet at the Hangzhou West Lake Hotel. China and the United States approved the Paris Agreement firstly and jointly deposited the ratification instrument to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. President Xi Jinping said that, this demonstrates our ambition and determination to tackle global problems together. President Barack Hussein Obama also said that “it is historic for the United States and China to simultaneously ratify and accept the Paris Agreement”.

After the meeting, President Xi Jinping and President Barack Hussein Obama drank tea in the pavilion of the West Lake State Hotel and strolled along the West Lake.
