On May 25, during the ‘2025 Beijing International Tea Industry Exhibition, 2025 Beijing Malian Road International Tea Culture Exchange Conference, and 2025 Beijing Quanzhou Tea Promotion Event,’ the 2025 China Tea Circulation Association’s’ International Tea Day ‘series -‘ Tea-gather’ International Students Beijing Tea Gathering was successfully held at the Beijing Exhibition Hall. The event attracted international students from 19 countries, including the UK, France, Australia, Russia, Egypt, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam, who actively participated. Through immersive experiences, the event initiated a cross-border tea culture dialogue.
Taste local famous tea: experience the thousand years of wisdom of tea culture
The students visited the famous tea booths in Quanzhou, Fujian; Hengzhou, Guangxi; Tongren, Guizhou; Xianyang, Shaanxi; Wufeng, Hubei; and Zhenghe, Fujian. Through tea art displays, tea making experiences and tasting interactions, they got a direct understanding of the unique flavors and cultural connotations of famous local teas from different regions of China, and felt the diverse charm of Chinese tea.
During the tasting and interaction, the students mentioned that Anxi Tieguanyin tea has a delicate orchid fragrance, Hengzhou jasmine tea is rich and fragrant, Guizhou Tongren Fanjingshan tea embodies the ecological secrets, Xianyang Fu tea is known for its ‘golden flower’ mystery, Wufeng Yihong tea is known for its rich and lingering aftertaste, and Zhenghe white tea is renowned for its elegant flavor. These distinctive teas not only show the diversity of Chinese tea and the exquisite craftsmanship of tea production but also vividly embody the essence of Eastern culture, which emphasizes harmony in diversity.

During the event, the exhibition areas of major brand enterprises served as a window for international students to experience the vibrant Chinese tea industry. At the booths of brands such as Wuyi Star, Pinpin Fragrance, Yulin Ancient Tea Workshop, Zhang Yiyuan, Sichuan Tea Group, Yichang Tea Industry Group, Longwang Mountain, and Yimei Garden, students tasted original leaf tea, tea beverages, and new tea drinks on-site. They engaged in deep conversations with the companies, gaining a comprehensive appreciation of the exceptional quality and flavor of Chinese tea. They also deeply understood the perfect blend of traditional tea-making techniques and modern tea industry innovation, witnessing the contemporary brilliance of Chinese tea culture in its commitment to tradition and innovation.

This event, using tea as a medium, has built a bridge for dialogue among international young people. The students, immersed in the fragrant tea, experienced the profound heritage of Chinese culture and showcased the diverse charm of global tea culture through their interactions. This cross-border tea gathering, under the interpretation of youth, has written a new chapter for the global community of tea culture.
