China Black Tea Conference – the largest black tea special conference in history was successfully held!

Recently, the 2024 China Dark Tea Conference, hosted by the China Tea Marketing Association, kicked off in Anhua County, Hunan Province. For this event, the China Tea Marketing Association invited over 1,000 guests, including leaders from the Hunan Provincial Government, representatives from cities and counties such as Yiyang, Lincang, Xianyang, Xianning, Wuzhou, and Ya’an, as well as representatives from counties including Chibi, Cangwu, Jingyang, Menghai, Yongde, Meitan, Jinxiang, Shucheng, and Yucheng District of Ya’an, which are major producing areas of dark tea in China. Additionally, brand enterprise leaders, industry organizations, experts and scholars, distributors, buyers, and journalists from 22 provinces participated. This was the largest, highest-level, and most effective specialized conference on dark tea in China’s tea industry.

Wang Qing, President of the China Tea Marketing Association, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that dark tea carries profound cultural heritage and historical accumulation, and with its unique fermentation process and rich internal substances, it has been well-received and praised by consumers. In recent years, the scale of the dark tea industry has continued to expand, and the number of brands has steadily increased, with the emergence of multiple excellent regional shared brands and corporate brands such as Anhua Dark Tea. This convention established a national dark tea connection platform, aiming to continuously rejuvenate the dark tea industry with new vitality and energy, and create a new chapter in the development of the dark tea industry.

During the convention, the China Tea Marketing Association officially announced the key producing areas of dark tea for 2024, national tea figures, and results of the “China’s Best Dark Tea” product and packaging survey and selection, guiding the optimization of industrial layout, promoting industrial innovation and upgrading, and facilitatingcoordinated development of the entire industry chain.

Meanwhile, the China Tea Marketing Association, along with governments of dark tea producing areas and leading enterprises in China, jointly established the “China Dark Tea Producing Area Cooperation Mechanism” and the “China Dark Tea · Anhua Declaration”, clarifying the development direction and goals of dark tea industry and injecting new vitality into the industry’s development.

During the event, the China Tea Marketing Association also held the “China’s Best Dark Tea” exhibition, featuring six major dark tea regional shared brands including Anhua Dark Tea, Yunnan Pu’er Tea, Wuzhou Liubao Tea, Xianyang Fu Tea, Ya’an Tibetan Tea, and Chibi Qingzhuan Tea. The exhibition fully demonstrated the brilliant achievements of China’s dark tea with the assistance of modern agricultural technology, allowing  guests to experience the perfect fusion of tradition and modernity.
